Working at Height Medical

Working at height can pose a significant risk to employees and requires specific safety measures to be taken. As part of these measures, a working at height medical assessment is recommended to assess an employee’s ability to work at height safely and identify any potential health issues that could increase the risk of an accident or injury.

How We Support You

The working at height medical assessment consists of a series of tests and evaluations designed to assess an employee’s overall health and ability to work at height safely. The assessment includes:

  • General health check-up
  • Hearing test
  • Respiratory function test
  • Vision test
  • Musculoskeletal examination
  • Review of the employee’s medical history

Although not required for a pass, we can offer urinalysis tests in these medicals. If you would like to add this, please let us know when booking in.

The assessment is conducted by a qualified Occupational Health Technician. The medical results are sent to our OH Nurse/Advisor for sign-off who will provide specific advice and guidance to ensure that the employee can work safely at height.

Main Benefits

The benefits of our working at height medical assessment include:

  • Ensuring that employees are physically and mentally fit to work at height
  • Identifying any health issues that may increase the risk of accidents or injuries when working at height
  • Providing professional advice and guidance to ensure employees can work safely at height
  • Ensuring that you are compliant with health and safety regulations
  • Reducing the risk of accidents or injuries in the workplace.

Ensuring Regulatory Compliance

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 outline specific requirements to prevent falls and protect individuals engaged in work at height. These regulations place a legal duty on employers to assess the risks, plan and organise the work properly, and ensure that employees are competent and fit to work at height. By conducting Working at Height Medical Assessments, organisations can demonstrate compliance with these regulations and fulfil their legal obligations. It ensures that employees are medically suited to perform tasks at height, reducing the likelihood of accidents, injuries, and occupational health issues.
